Dr. Annette Bohannon is a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor and Nationally Certified Counselor. Dr. Bohannon received her EdD in Counselor Education from Auburn University. Professional memberships include the American Counseling Association (ACA), Alabama Counseling Association (ALCA), Association for Creativity in Counseling (ACC), American School Counselor Association (ASCA), Alabama Association of Counselor Education and Supervision (ALACES), Alabama School Counselor Association (ALSCA), International Employee Assistance Professionals Association (IEAPA), Alabama Employee Assistance Professionals Association (ALEAPA), and National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC). Dr. Bohannon also serves on the editorial board of the Journal for Creativity in Mental Health (JCMH).

Counseling a helping process. By design, counseling is the process of empowering clients to resolve problems, make decisions, and develop action plans for themselves and/or their family unit. Counseling is a part of the change process and what I believe influences the change I see in the diverse clients I serve. Effective counseling outcomes are also based on a collaborative relationship between client and therapist.
